Just looking to be a better person,<br />
Just a little bit more,<br />
Just to be a bit more,<br />
A better son,<br />
A better student,<br />
A better Christian,<br />
A better worshipper.<br />
<br />
Later I aim to be a better doctor,<br />
Then a better boyfriend,<br />
Later in time I told myself,<br />
A better husband.<br />
<br />
Now again,<br />
I find myself wishing I was a better student,<br />
And the cycle goes on,<br />
I still wish to be better in all the things I wish to be before,<br />
Only a new wish this time,<br />
A better father.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">In this one year, it wasn't easy all along. There were moments where mummy felt so drained and lost...but Jesus has been ever faithful. He sent papa, you and so many others to cheer and help mummy out during those difficult times. Your sweet smiles, infectious laughters and warm hugs have also given me strength to press on. I love it when you throw your arms around me. Please keep it up with you as you grow...but don't simply go hug girls ya?</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I may not be the coolest mummy but I will lean on His grace to be a better mum to you. I love you, son. Happy first birthday! Here's a montage dedicated to you. </span><br />

That's all it takes to fall in love,<br />
A look, a glance, a moment,<br />
That's all it took,<br />
That's all it takes,<br />
One second of time,<br />
Wham bam,<br />
I fell in love with my lovely lady,<br />
And still constantly falling in love,<br />
A never ending cycle.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
A minute,<br />
The time needed for you,<br />
To cheer this heart,<br />
To cure my loneliness,<br />
A minute of your attention,<br />
That all it takes,<br />
A minute of your time,<br />
I fell in love and am still falling in love with the girl next door.<br />
<br />
An hour,<br />
Never enough,<br />
Never satisfied,<br />
It's not enough to only have an hour to chat,<br />
An hour is useless, but I'll take it anytime.<br />
<br />
A day,<br />
Spent with you is like candies to a child,<br />
Spent with you makes all things right,<br />
That's a day,<br />
And I can't take not spending even a day,<br />
Far from you.<br />
<br />
A month,<br />
Our first month together,<br />
Getting to know each other,<br />
I remember the bliss, the excitement,<br />
The wonder of it all,<br />
The best month during that time.<br />
<br />
Now a year,<br />
Oh how time flies,<br />
Oh how it flees,<br />
Oh how it disappears,<br />
It's been a year now,<br />
It been a year since we made our covenant,<br />
Blink of an eye,<br />
Poof and is gone,<br />
One year of our lives,<br />
One year of truly being together,<br />
One wonderful year,<br />
One superb year,<br />
One glorious year,<br />
It's been my honor,<br />
It's been my pride,<br />
This has been one year of joy ride,<br />
One year.<br />
<br />
Happy anniversary, my love,<br />
It's been one heck of a year.<br />
<br />
Always loving you,<br />
Always yours,<br />
Always together,<br />
Always and forever,<br />
To many many many many many more years to come,<br />
Cheers baby girl,<br />
Your husband always,<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Pardon me for taking a very long break from the series of wedding preparation blog entries. I left the planner (in which I kept all wedding vendors' info) back in Setia Alam...*sigh*...so my next entry on wedding prep would not be anytime soon..so sorry! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I'll be talking about my luxury toy, Thermomix (TM) in this entry. Due to the hefty price tag, I have been contemplating to get this amazing kitchen helper for some time...and finally, I bought one not long ago after months of saving. So far, I have been using it much for making smoothies (oh my, I drank so much of them throughout my pregnancy), sorbet, pastry, sauces, soups, buns, cakes and pizzas. Soon, I'll be exploiting this german maid to make Isaac's baby food. hmm, can't wait! :) </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Anyway, I made Lo Pak Gou (White Radish Cake) with TM last week and it was a success! It is definitely easier and faster with TM...Alright, I am sharing the recipe here. Enjoy! </span><br />

My heart heavy,<br />
Soon I'll be back to work,<br />
Soon I'll be away from my babies,<br />
Tick tock, tick tock,<br />
Few more days and we're separated by the sea.<br />
<br />
Tears are forming,<br />
I am so going to miss them,<br />
I miss not being a staircase away,<br />
I miss not being able to hold my babies,<br />
Tick tock, tick tock,<br />
Going back to Sabah.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
My heart sinking,<br />
Why, because I realise,<br />
They are my everything,<br />
They are my soul and my life.<br />
<br />
Just the thought of not being able to see them,<br />
Just the feeling of being apart,<br />
It breaks my heart,<br />
It wounds my emotions.<br />
<br />
I try to take my mind away,<br />
No avail,<br />
No cure,<br />
No help.<br />
<br />
What can I do then?<br />
I lift them up to Jesus,<br />
I give them to the care of the best,<br />
I plead His blood over them.<br />
<br />
May they be kept save under Your mighty wings Lord,<br />
They are the apple of Your Eyes,<br />
They are the darlings of your Love,<br />
Strengthen them always,<br />
Make them feel your Love always,<br />
Keep them aware of you daily.<br />
<br />
Love,<br />
A husband and a father,<br />

The doctor who conducted the delivery is daddy's buddy from uni, Dr Rajeev. He is AWESOME, so is the entire team who assisted the delivery process. Mummy had epidural and amniotomy...In less than three hours later, I was born naturally (i.e. SVD) with no episiotomy. </span><span style="color: #191919; font-family: Arial;">Thank God I did not have to suffer long duration of trauma in the birth canal (the cord got entangled around my neck)! </span><span style="color: #191919; font-family: Arial;">I am so glad that daddy was there during the entire process.I believe mummy feel the same way too. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><i>"Wah, you have too much money to splurge ar? Why need to hire professional emcee? Just find someone that can talk on stage will do la...."</i></span></blockquote>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">That was the response I received from majority when they got to know that I am getting a professional master of ceremony a.k.a emcee for my wedding. I am thankful that my other half, as well as my in laws, did not think the same way. We strongly believe in the need of getting a good emcee for major events like weddings. Emceeing is indeed a crucial, tough job. Not just being able to crack some jokes to wow the audience, an effective emcee will be required to <span style="text-align: left;">simultaneously </span>wear other hats: event coordinator, stage manager, clock watcher, sound and lighting consultant, trouble shooter, nerve calmer, cheer leader....A good emcee will make the event more entertaining, and a huge success. A bad emcee, can make an otherwise outstanding event look like amateur night at the local "lala" pub. After all the hard work in planning for the wedding, I would definitely want to hand it to someone who is capable of handling it.</span></div>

To be honest, I was already quite convinced of getting him for my wedding when I </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">checked out his portfolio, testimonials from his past clients and videos of his performances over the net.</span> <span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I dropped an email immediately to arrange for an appointment...and engaged him straight after the meet up.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">William's charges vary according to the complexity of the program, but he generally charge RM2,600 for wedding reception planning, coordinating and bilingual emceeing (English, Mandarin or Cantonese). This package also include one assistant. His team, which </span><span style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">acts as personal DJ and timekeeper throughout, </span></span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">will liaise with all parties involved in the event: banquet manager, performers, PA and lighting personnels</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">, etc, to ensure smooth and successful event. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">As for my wedding, we paid RM3,000 (after RM200 discount) for </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">planning, coordinating and emceeing </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">both solemnization ceremony</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> and wedding reception.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i style="background-color: white; color: blue; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 21.559999465942383px;">Quality of Service: Excellent</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">If you're looking for an emcee for your event, </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I highly recommend William Lee. Look for no other. He's REALLY GOOD!! While some emcees simply introduce people and make announcements, this guy has a myriad entertaining styles of doing them. Composed and flexible, William definitely has excellent stage presence, exceptional audience rapport and communicates very effectively. Also, he is perfectly capable of setting the perfect tone for the event, managing time effectively, making everyone feel welcome and at ease...More importantly, he does not hog the limelight!! All my guests, </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">even my elderly Chinese speaking relatives,</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> were singing praises of him! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Throughout the few months of wedding planning, we liaise with William over emails and met up in a few occasions to discuss on the itinerary, song selection and other related issues. With the help of his team, we managed to have the rehearsal done with the wedding party shortly before the solemnization ceremony. He even helped JW in planning a surprise performance (i.e. serenading me with songs and poem as I make my second entrance during the wedding reception). </span><br />

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><b>Tip:</b> </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Some hired emcees have very poor command of language and dress rather inappropriately. C</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">heck out videos/recordings of their past performances, listen to their pronunciation</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> of words and take note of how they dress, at the very least, before engaging one. </span><br />

<b style="color: blue; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><u>Reception: Setia City Covention Centre (SCCC)</u></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><span style="color: red; font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Overall rating: 3.8 (out of 5)</span></i><br />

<i style="color: blue;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I would talk about this first as the largest bulk of wedding expenses was on the reception/ banquet dinner. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>Price/Value: Fair</i></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">We booked when it was just newly opened. The introductory price was considerably reasonable, in comparison to other hotels and convention centers offering similar packages.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>Food: Excellent & most importantly, HALAL (We had Muslim guests)</i></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The taste, presentation, temperature & portion during the actual day were pleasant and did not deviate much from what we had during food tasting (as according to my brother & SIL). </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">A week before the wedding, the assistant banquet manager proposed to "double park" the first four courses (i.e. two courses being served at the same time) as there will be another bigger wedding running at the same time as ours, and they were worried of shortage of servers on that day. Which client in the right mind would accept such ridiculous proposal? We disapproved the idea and insisted that all courses to be served one at a time. I even reminded my wedding coordinator, William Lee, to make sure that there will be no double parking of dishes and that next course to be served at about 10-15 minutes after the earlier course has been finished by the guests. </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Thank goodness all dishes were served perfectly at just the right time.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So far, none of my guests complained </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">about the food. All gave thumbs up! We were glad that no one felt rushed or had to wait too long to eat. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>Ambience: Awesome</i></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the lavish Grand Pavilion (gazebo) and the surrounding landscape. The interior of the convention center certainly looks glamorous with enclosing glass panels overlooking the fountain and lush scenery outside. </span></div>

<i style="color: blue; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Quality of Service: Blah/rather crappy</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">To be honest, I was rather disappointed with the SCCC's management. They were new, inexperienced and kinda "chaotic" with their policy. </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Two event executives </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">were put to be be in charge of our wedding. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The first one, Cindy, was fairly rigid, inexperienced and rather unprofessional. I remembered how aloof she treated us during our first two visits to SCCC, as if we could not afford a wedding banquet there. </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The moment she got to know that we are residents of Setia Eco Park, her tone changed instantaneously. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">During the first visit, we were informed that the the wedding package comes with complimentary use of event lawn and gazebo. However, after signing up, Cindy told us a different thing..."<i>Wedding couples are only entitled to complimentary usage of </i></span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><i>Grand Pavilion. Use of event lawn is charged at RM 2,000 ++ (even for an hour event)</i>". I was instructed by Cindy to get my own people to clean up the gazebo after the garden ceremony and to provide her a black & white stating that I agree to clean up the gazebo after the event. =.='''</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">When asked in detail about the decorations/ flower arrangements included in my wedding package, neither Cindy nor SCCC's panel decorator (Star Garden Florist) could not provide a definite answer, even when it was only 4 months away from the wedding day. Star Garden kept giving me the excuse that SCCC has not confirm on the budget allocated for decoration, and hence, they can't furnish the details of the arrangements. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">A particular person as always, I proposed my elaborated ideas on wedding decorations to both of them and asked if they are possible with the budget allocated by SCCC. Guess what were their replies? </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><b>Star Garden</b>: </span><i style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">We will only do a new theme if we think the theme is "sellable". I think it is better if you choose our existing themes...</i><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">(Not even one is of my liking)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><b>Cindy:</b> <i>Just let me </i></span><i><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">know your theme colour and the panel decorator will settle the arrangements based on our budget allocation. By the way, I have no authority to let you know our cost breakdown. You may speak to my superior on this. </span></i><i style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">As for the guest table posy, you can only choose the preferred colour. The banquet manager will decide on the posy arrangement. </i><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">(That's why I call her "rigid"...I wasn't even allowed to choose my preferred flower for guest table posy). </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Dubious that the floral arrangements set by them would be exactly of my liking, I decided to get an external decorator instead. </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I shall talk more about the decor in my next entry. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Thank God I only had to deal with Cindy for 9 months, until she was transferred to a different unit. Fiona, the successor, was way better in terms of social etiquette and professionalism. Comparatively more helpful and negotiable, Fiona accepted my simple request for the choice of guest table posy and forwarded it to the banquet manager...I managed to get the posy of my choice in the end. </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">:) </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">We took two beer barrels from SCCC for the predinner cocktail. The two beer girls that served the beer were horrendous!! A number of my guests complained that the girls were lingering around the dessert table during cocktail, sinking their teeth into the wedding cake and other sweet treats, which were meant ONLY for my guests. Mind you, the beer barrels were not empty yet!! Terrible!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Pardon me for the very late entry of this series of blogposts...I know some of you have been waiting very long for the details of my self-planned wedding (some even called/FB/pm-ed me and my husband)...grrrhhh, so sorry. I</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> initially wanted to post these entries right after my wedding but what held me back until now was....*ahem* busy baby-making. LOL. Ok, jokes aside. My sister in law engaged some same wedding vendors for her wedding in March this year. Hence, I thought it would be best if I keep my comments until her wedding is over. </span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Many have asked me where and how I got the contacts of the vendors. Majority were obtained from online wedding directories and forums, while some were recommendations from friends and relatives. Here are some of the Malaysia's online wedding forums and websites that I find useful:</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">In order t</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">o ease the vendor hunting and selection process, i</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">t would be best if you already have sorted the following with your fiance' (and not forgeting your in-laws/parents): </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">1. Type of wedding ceremony you're looking for (outdoor/indoor/destination wedding, </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> banquet </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">dinner/luncheon, church ceremony)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">2. Wedding date</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">3. </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Approximate number of guests</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">4. Budget allocation for each item </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> <b><u>Tip 1:</u> </b>Download the wedding planning & budget checklists from wedding webpages like </span><br />
<a href="http://theknot.com/" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">theknot.com</a>. <span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Keep all the details in a wedding folder for easy reference. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The first wedding item you should be searching for is, I would say, reception venue. Popular venues on "good dates" are quickly booked out, so book early! (I booked mine almost a year ahead). Here's a </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">useful link, </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">compiling majority of the wedding venues in Malaysia with details of price (though not the latest revised price), seating capacity and customer feedbacks: </span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><a href="http://www.wedresearch.net/p/venue-search_4.html">http://www.wedresearch.net/p/venue-search_4.html</a></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">(Note: you need password to access the page. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white; text-align: justify;">Get your free access by emailing to</span> <a href="mailto:wedresearch@gmail.com" style="text-align: justify; text-decoration: none;">wedresearch@gmail.com</a>)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span> <br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">There are some points you need to take into consideration when deciding the venue: </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">1. Capacity - can the venue accommodate the size of your guest list?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">2. Accessibility - should be centrally located with</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> ample </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">parking. E</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">asy transportation and </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> nearby accommodation</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> for outstation guests. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">3. Restrictions - some locations especially religious venues have strict guidelines on attire, </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> music, photography, videography, decorations, etc. So, do take note. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">4. Plan B options (for outdoor weddings) in case of unforeseen weather - do check the </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> alternatives available </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">5. Customers' reviews - service, food, decoration provided, etc. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><b><br />
</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><b><u>Tip 2:</u></b></span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> Short list the venues selected and make a trip down to all of them (or until you have found the ONE). Bring your </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">fiance' </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">and/or a close friend. Have a look </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">yourself. Speak </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">to the </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">person in charge. Do not </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">book a venue based solely on what you </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">see over the venues' </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">website. The pictures </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">displayed could be very deceiving and you </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">may </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">not be getting as what shown in the </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">pictures.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span> <span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">JW and I went surveying some of the short-listed venues until we found the one fit for our wedding: Setia City Convention Centre (SCCC). We chose this among the few others because:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">1. The wedding package offered was within our budget (RM1188++ per table)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">2. The convention hall could cater to the size of my guest list (minimum number of tables: </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> 30; </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">can cater up to 200 tables, for banquet seating arrangement)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">3. I am totally in love with the lush gazebo & outdoor landscape (fits my garden wedding </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> theme)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">4. Ample parking </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">5. Easily accessible by NKVE and not as jammed as KL/PJ areas during the weekends </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">6. New, clean with no foul carpet odour</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">7. It's only 3 minutes drive from Jer Wei's house...Hence, I can easily run to & forth for the </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> preps :)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">SCCC, which was only recently opened in November 2012, is strategically located within the commercial hub of Setia City, in the heart of Setia Alam Township in Shah Alam. </span><br />

CARMEN NGhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01346969763543386825noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8765168282762726655.post-13922684701398190462014-04-04T19:40:00.004-07:002014-07-26T00:43:31.396-07:00An open letter to Christians.<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">We live in an age where there is just too much information laying around, there is just too much things to do, too much to see, too much to know and too much to care for. It's as if we had forgotten to live simple, to do what's important and to care for what's real and lasting. We argue too much, and we force our views on others, having our pride puffed up and thinking that we are the real deal. We think too highly of ourselves and we put ourselves at a higher place and we think too much of who we are and what we are capable of. </span><br>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">We make things complicated and call it simple, we create inventions that bore us, we do things that benefit us only at the cost of others around us, we steal, we lie and we cheat our way through at the disguise of being fair, fighting for equality, doing justice. Two wrongs just don't make one right, but sadly that's the nature of things now. We continue to do wrong to cover up previous mistakes. </span><br>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Information is handy but we are just too damn lazy to look for it, there is no virtue as self sacrifice but none practise it anymore. We are scared of losing out and we look out for the best, but only for ourselves. We polish this thing called self esteem at the behest of others.</span><br>
<a name="more"></a><br>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">We forgive too little and we take heart too often. We are discontented too much of the time and we don't want to work for what we want. We are compassionate too little and we are cruel easily, we don't see the value of second chances and condemn a man for making a mistake in his life. We judge too quickly and execute too hastily. </span><br>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">We make it seem as if we care when we really don't. We lie to ourselves and say its okay when it is not. We who are fortunate never take enough time to think of unfortunate ones. We tell ourselves that there is nothing that we can do so that we can make ourselves feel better, we misled ourselves and end up believing in a lie. </span><br>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This is the lie, our lives, self conceited and self serving, there is no role of helping the poor, of feeding the starved, and of the putting of smiles on the faces of our kindred. It's me or you, it's a man eat man world, there is no more compassion, no more love.</span><br>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This is the society that we are currently living in, we kill to enforce our will, we destroy to exert strength, we pillage at the cost of the unfortunate, we steal to enrich our bellies. Our greed knows no bounds, our damnation well deserved. </span><br>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">We call ourselves enlighten because we build and communicate, we call ourselves advanced because of our inventions, we dominate and rule the earth, we who proclaim to be the rulers of land. We plunder the earth for it's resources never giving back, we till the ground and tear down trees destroying natural habitats for unnatural ones. We lay hold of a territory and call it ours. </span><br>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">We build government and elect the corrupt, we allow them to lord and rule over us as if we are incapable. We let them run wild and take us for fools. We lament and lament and lament until there is no tomorrow but never taking any actions. This is the age we live in. </span><br>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Now go over this article another time before proceeding for better effect.</span><br>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Then through it all, there was this one man, one person who took it upon himself, to make right the wrongs and to show us the way, this one man whose wrong was to be compassionate to the leper, to love the poor and afflicted, to ease burdens, to celebrate life with wine, now this one man, all he did was love and love and love, and being in the state that we were in, we condemned this one man, we put him to shame, slapped him around, we spat on him (yes every single one of us), we torment him with our gaze, we whipped him till his bones are bare, then we made him carry the instrument of his death, we tied him there with nails, and as if it weren't enough, we watched him bled. This man's death condemned us all, none excluded.</span><br>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Selah.</span><br>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">But remember remember that this was the Man who came to redeem us all, that we men at their most cruel was forgiven. It was right at that moment that we were washed, His bright red blood cleansing us, it was precious no doubt, but He was willing. Then He rose again, signifying our complete forgiveness for the earth could not swallow Him. Therefore, Him being a pleasing sacrifice paid the most dearest of price, so that all our ungodly and unholy nature would be conforming to Him.</span><br>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br><br></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">World peace is achieved when God fearing people start to realise that we are not of this world but of the world to come, there is loads of work to do for people who claim Christ as their Lord. There is much to be done.</span><br>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">When people ask me how are things, how is married life, I always tell them, 'Great! Wonderful', and like the slogan of McD's, I'm loving it!!! They would then say, 'Of course, it's always wonderful in the beginning, you are still in honeymoon mood'.</span><br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">They say that, after a while relationships grows cold,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">They say that, soon honeymoon will be over,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">They say, enjoy it while It lasts,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">They say, all good things must come to an end.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Later, when the honeymoon period is over,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">You come back to the ground,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">You face reality again,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">They make reality so hard to bear,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Like reality is a chore. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I have come to agree with them, today I realize I believe what they say, there is indeed a honeymoon period, and that's superb and terrific, but it does end, it does come to a halt. Honeymoon period is like the sky, what goes up must come down. Honeymoon.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Though I agree with them here, I disagree with their notion of reality. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I have learnt that, I love her darling soul more and more,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I have learnt that, relationships are dynamic,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I have learnt that, I am still very much in love,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I have learnt that, though dreamy honeymoon is over, </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Reality to different persons means different things.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Reality to me is this,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">That I have one God, the Father,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">One Lord, Jesus,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">And one spirit, the Holy Spirit,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">And they live in harmony with each other,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">That they are in agreement with each other,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">That they are distinct and yet, </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">They are One.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Sorry, I've diverted a little, where was I? Yes, honeymoon is over and reality sets in. And yes, this is essential.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I have recently learnt this new truth, and I was challenged left, right and center regarding the triunity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. So I did a little research, yet intelligence and logic doesn't really apply here, God cannot be put in a box. As I looked, I saw the beauty of the triune God, I saw the wonderful relationship of the three of them, I saw that they are all God, that there is a distinct difference between the three and yet, in the perfect same image. I then understood in my spirit, as scales fell from my eyes, they are One, as The Moses said to his people, Hear O Israel, The Lord God, He is one! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hence, learning about this triune God, </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Reality to me is the greatest vision that I could ever have,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Learning from my Jesus.....</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I am learning to love my Carmen,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">More than ever,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Much more that ever.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Learning to love Wai Yin,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Always with patience,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Always with agape love.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">To love my baby girl,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Better than yesterday,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Yes, always better than the past.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So, how is married life?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">It's getting better and better my friends,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Getting out of control,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">But always in a good way,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Always in all aspects,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">More positive, more godly,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">It is.....better than the honeymoon period,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">It is reality!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Sincerely,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Jer Wei</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">PS: Seeing the unity of the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, somehow made me love my wife more.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Repeating same old same old,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Knowing the things that I say has the same gist,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Knowing that it's just a play of words,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Words that are cleverly arranged.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Like a puzzle that is jumbled up,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Like a needle in a haystack,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Like the sand in the sea,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The stars in the sky,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Waiting to be arranged,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">To be found,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Wait for someone to appreciate it's pattern.</span><br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I sound like a broken record,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I understand that it's beginning to bore some of you,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">A repetition of the themes of my life,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">An expression of the passions in my life.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">A broken record I am,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Nonetheless, I am willing to risk sounding like one,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">It might seem like it's the same tune,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">But let me assure you that the amplitude is louder.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Let me say it again,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This time louder,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This time more assuringly,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This time with more gusto.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This is the motto of me life,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Let Jesus love me, </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Know Jesus loves me.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Allow Jesus to pour out His love for me.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So that I can love more,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So that I can care more,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So that my heart will enlarge and be strong,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So that my hopes will be sure,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So that my desires be satisfied.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Also let me say this again,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I love you,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Carmen Ng Wai Yin,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Today with more affection,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">With more commitment,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">With more of my heart, my soul, my mind, my strength,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The way Jesus wants me to love you,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The way He loves His church.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Thanking Jesus for the love that He has for me,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The love the caused Him to endure the cross,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The love that made all His grace possible.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Sincerely,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Always loving you, Jesus Christ,</span><br />

Grace, what have You done?<br />
Murdered for me on that cross<br />
Accused in absence of wrong<br />
My sin washed away in Your blood<br />
<br style="border: 0px none; font-size: 1em; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" />
Too much to make sense of it all<br />
I know that Your love breaks my fall<br />
The scandal of grace, You died in my place<br />
So my soul will live<br />
<br style="border: 0px none; font-size: 1em; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" />
Oh to be like You<br />
Give all I have just to know You<br />
Jesus, there's no one besides You<br />
Forever the hope in my heart<br />
<br style="border: 0px none; font-size: 1em; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" />
Death, where is your sting?<br />
Your power is as dead as my sin<br />
The cross has taught me to live<br />
And mercy, my heart now to sing<br />
<br style="border: 0px none; font-size: 1em; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" />
The day and its trouble shall come<br />
I know that Your strength is enough<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The wedding is finally over and now only I have the time to blog about the preparations</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">. Better be late than never, right? Hahaha. Many that have seen my prewedding pictures came asking me about it. Ok, I shall talk about it here. </span><br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">JW and I signed up for a customised prewedding package with Memories Bridal Gallery (MBG) during a bridal fair held in Tawau back in 2012. The package we took wasn't dead cheap (it's a 5-figure value) but definitely cheaper than those high end galleries in KL. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The photo shooting took place in early April this year. We</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> took a week off and stayed in Masada Backpaker for the entire week. A favourite among local and foreign backpackers, this humble lodge is clean, comfy and definitely value for money. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Gowns selection and fitting were done on the day before the photoshooting. Not much gowns for my petite size but definitely enough to spend the entire afternoon in the fitting room. Haha. It took me almost 4 hours to choose 8 gowns for the photoshooting, 3 gowns for the wedding day and a few matching suits for JW. JW wore his own attire for most of shooting as the cutting of the suits from the gallery doesn't fit his small frame nicely. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">My make up artist for the entire 4 days was Esther Chong from MBG. Being fussy as usual, I highlighted to her the do's and don'ts styles. She was attentive, gentle, polite and </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">did a fantastic job for both make up and hair. She even tried</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> a few new hairdos on me...and they turned out spectacular!! <table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">A lot of people told us that the outdoor photo shooting would be very tiring..and what more, 4-days stretch! To be honest, JW and I did not find it tiring. In fact, it was very fun! YES ! FUN!! The only boring part was the looonnng journey through Sabah's bumpy roads. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The photo shooting was surprisingly quick. </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Our photographer, Lucas Ting, was very efficient</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> and snapped pretty fast. A few clicks and he is done for the day. JW and I were initially sceptical that the photos will turn out beautiful as the photographer seemed very relax and nonchalant. JW requested to see some of </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">the pictures while waiting for my hair change and guess what?? JW was so amazed with the photos. He told me that the photos don't even need much editing. Haih...but I didn't get to see any of the photos throughout the shooting, as the photographer wanted to keep it as a surprise for me. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">For Day 1, we went up to Kundasang War Memorial and Desa Cow Farm. There were intermittent drizzles when we arrived and the mount was partially covered by the thick clouds. Lucas suggested some poses on the big rocks. Without hesitation, I climbed all up in the heavy gown, barefoot. Now you would understand why I call this fun. Haha</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Mount Kinabalu is just right behind</span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Day 2 was the most relaxing as the shooting was done just around the studio and KK Town (Sabah Air Aviation, Tanjung Aru, Jesselton Point). Day 3 shooting was around Penampang town (St. Aloysius' Church and Babagon). Shooting in Sungai Moyog of Babagon was the most physically challenging as I need to stabilize myself on the slippery rocks while holding tightly to the train of my gown so that the dress don't get drifted away by the strong gush of river water. It was also raining then. Basically, we got ourselves wet from top to bottom. wooohooo!!! How fun!! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">It ain't easy for a pose like this</span></td></tr>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Wet top to bottom..Photographer and makeup artist were also drenched in rain :)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Day 4 shooting was at Bunga Raya Island Resort, a luxurious resort in Gaya Island. We were so blessed to have professional videographer </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Bryan Kujuo, to film a short MV for us at no extra cost. Thanks to MBG for the special arrangement! Weather was good throughout the day and this place is amazingly beautiful. Indeed heaven on earth! </span></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The prewedding package that we signed up includes a complimentary</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> 2 Days 1 Night stay at the sister resort, Gayana Eco Resort. We stayed in Lagoon Villa; the room was approximately 700sq feet with private balcony and 32" LCD TV and DVD system. This posh hotel is slightly cheaper than </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Bunga Raya Island Resort and is definitely the best water villa I have ever stayed!!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Day 5 was photo viewing and selection. We did not expect almost 500 shots from Lucas as he didn't seem to have click much on the camera button. All the pictures are beautiful and unique on their own. I admit that it was very difficult to select only 189 shots for the album!! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">JW is very detailed when it comes to photography. We did specifically note to MBG the frames, album layouts and finishings wanted...yet there were some unexpected errors in the large print photos (framed photo given instead of canvas print) and printed albums (wrong finishing by printing company). Luckily, Ally, the manager of MBG, took prompt action on our complaint and agreed to redo all 4 albums and 3 large prints. Thank God we got our albums and large prints in time for the wedding.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">In overall, Ally, Lucas, Esther and the rest of the MBG crew were awesome. We were treated like kings and queens during our short prewedding trip. Ally even prepared a bag of snacks for our stay in Gayana and </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">assigned her staff to send us off the airport! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">It was indeed an experience of a lifetime and we give MBG an A++ for the memories they have helped us engraved forever in our photos! If you are looking for awesome prewedding shoots, look no further. Engage Memories Bridal Gallery!</span><br />

<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">How can I let my words do justice in life?</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">How should I let my actions perform now?</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">How would I express my longings?</span><br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Woke up a little earlier than usual,</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Knowing it is a holiday,</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I gave her a morning kiss,</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">And proceeded with some stretching,</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">My thoughts stays with her,</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I wonder about the questions above.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Now I am at a crossroads,</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">In less than 3 weeks, </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">In less than 20 days,</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">No more longer,</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I shall walk down the aisle with my lover.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Certain things come to mind,</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Surely those who have experienced know,</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I wonder about the questions above.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Gone are the days where I can be selfish,</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Gone are the days where I can be inconsiderate,</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Gone those days where decisions can be made on a whim,</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Gone are reckless, rash and foolhardy days.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Really, it is time to man up!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">It is about time,</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">It is time to enjoy life even more so,</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Cause now I have a partner in life,</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Now I have a soul mate,</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Now I have myself a helper.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Life would be put in perspective by reading His Word!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">My words would be trustworthy if it is His Word!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">My actions would be motivated by faith in His Word!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">And my longings would be longings of His Word!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">With the help of Your Word in my life,</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Jesus my everything,</span></div>
<div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I was looking at some chic ring pillows and flower baskets on Etsy. Guess what? A simple looking ring pillow can easily cost RM70. Everything about wedding is seriously expensive. I gave up finding for an affordable one and decided to DIY instead. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Here's what I DIY-ed. </span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Ang pow box with silk garden roses and hydrangeas; ji mui wrist corsages with foam roses; ring pillow with silk garden roses; flower basket with silk flower, rose pom poms and hair wreaths for the flower girls. I wanted all ivory but a close friend reminded me some elders are rather "pantang" with all white wedding and white flowers on the hair. Hence, the wreaths and corsages are in pale pink. The rose pom poms were recycled from a friend's wedding. I added the fuchsia bow so that it doesn't look too "white" and gives a pop of colour. </span></div>
